The Technician role at IKEA's Toppen Shopping Centre in Johor Bahru is responsible for the daily maintenance and operation of the facility, including mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems. This position supports preventive and corrective maintenance, troubleshooting, and ensures a safe and functional environment for customers and tenants.

Ansvarsområden

Perform servicing, repair, and maintenance of mechanical, electrical, and plumbing (MEP) systems and building infrastructure.
Conduct routine inspections and operational checks on ACMV, lighting, electrical, plumbing, LPG, water systems, structures, and façades.
Take utility meter readings and record operational data.
Assist in maintaining operational areas, technical rooms, and facilities infrastructure.
Execute preventive maintenance activities according to schedules and CMMS requirements.
Troubleshoot technical systems including Fire Protection, ELV, PA, CCTV, Intrusion Alarm, UPS, and Public Display Panels.
Support emergency response and after-hours operational breakdown support.
Assist in monitoring contractors and service providers.
Update equipment inventories, PM checklists, maintenance documentation, and technical drawing records.

Krav

Certificate in Electrical, Mechanical, Building Technology, or equivalent technical trade qualification.
Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in building maintenance, Facilities Management, or technical operations environments.
Good understanding of M&E systems, architectural drawings, plumbing systems, and technical infrastructure.
Familiar with CMMS systems, operational reporting, and maintenance documentation practices.
Basic reporting capability and ability to document completed works and operational updates clearly.
Good understanding of operational safety requirements, PTW procedures, and maintenance practices.
Proficient in Bahasa Malaysia and English both written and spoken.

Önskade kvalifikationer

Relevant trade certification such as Wireman or certification in Low Voltage Systems such as A0, A1, and A4 is preferred.
Experience in retail property management or facilities operations environments is preferred.
