I korthet
Sandvik Mining is seeking a Technical Writer to create and maintain operator and maintenance manuals for RTV equipment and other mechanical cutting products. This role also involves supporting product safety initiatives, including risk assessments and compliance with local regulations.
Ansvarsområden
- Create and maintain Operator’s and Maintenance Manuals for RTV equipment and other Mechanical Cutting products.
- Develop structured, easy-to-understand technical instructions based on machine knowledge and observations.
- Produce documentation in clear technical English for global customers.
- Develop technical illustrations based on CAD data, photos, and workshop observations.
- Collect technical input from engineering, service, and workshop teams.
- Support risk assessments for machines and safety-related functions.
- Act as local contact person for product safety topics in South Africa.
- Conduct machine safety audits and inspections.
- Identify hazards and support development of safety improvements.
- Support compliance with local regulations and internal standards.
- Work closely with technical documentation teams in Austria and India, as well as engineering, service, and workshop teams.
- Ensure alignment between design, machine configuration, and documentation.
- Support preparation of safety-related documentation packages.
Krav
- Relevant Degree in Mechanical, Electrical or Mining engineering.
- Relevant work experience in similar role.
- Experience with mining machinery for flameproof environments.
- Understanding of machine systems, hydraulics, and basic electrical concepts.
- Experience with Rubber Tired Vehicles or Flameproof Equipment for the mining industry.
- Interest in creating clear, structured technical documentation and illustrations.
- Ability to structure procedures, safety instructions, and warnings.
