Sandvik is seeking a proactive Technical Advisor for their operations in Kumasi, Ghana. This role provides expert mechanical engineering advisory support to customer teams, focusing on the operation and maintenance of the MPP Train Load Out (TLO) station to ensure optimal performance, reliability, and safety. The position requires a degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer and involves advising on operational strategies, maintenance, and troubleshooting.
Ansvarsområden
- Continuously monitor customer's operational and maintenance activities on TLO equipment.
- Verify TLO equipment achieves and sustains nameplate capacity, recommending changes for optimization.
- Conduct spot-check inspections of TLO equipment during operations and maintenance.
- Provide expert advice to operators and maintainers for technical issue resolution and continuous improvement.
- Mentor operators and maintainers, deliver hands-on training and coaching.
- Participate in daily operations, maintenance meetings, and shutdown reviews.
- Review and validate maintenance strategies, recommending updates.
- Lead or support root cause analysis (RCA) investigations for equipment failures.
- Conduct reliability assessments and recommend improvements.
- Liaise with customer to develop proactive solutions to technical issues.
- Participate in TLO unscheduled downtime maintenance events and planned outages.
- Prepare and submit required deliverables and review them with the customer.
Krav
- Degree-qualified Mechanical Engineer required; certified senior mechanical technicians with equivalent experience may be considered.
- Strong understanding and proven experience of maintenance technologies and the functional operation of bulk material handling and storage equipment.
- Fluent in English or French; bilingual capability strongly preferred.
- Prior experience in an advisory, mentoring, or technical support role within a mining or bulk materials handling environment is highly regarded.
- Must successfully complete a detailed pre-travel medical examination and receive medical clearance.
- Willingness and ability to work a 4-weeks-on / 2-weeks-off roster on a remote greenfield site in Guinea.
