HID Global is seeking a Systems Operations Engineer in Salt Lake City, Utah, to support the reliability, performance, and security of core systems and infrastructure. Ansvarsområden
- Assist in deploying, configuring, and maintaining server, storage, and cloud infrastructure.
- Monitor system performance and escalate issues to ensure availability and SLA adherence.
- Support automation efforts by maintaining scripts and tools for provisioning, configuration management, and incident handling.
- Participate in troubleshooting activities and contribute to root-cause analysis.
- Help maintain system documentation, runbooks, and operational standards.
- Assist in implementing backup and disaster recovery procedures.
- Collaborate with Security, DevOps, Network Engineering, and Application teams.
- Support the lifecycle management of infrastructure components, including patching and upgrades.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and assist with incident response.
- Contribute to evaluating new tools and processes.
- Support the deployment and configuration of infrastructure solutions.
- Assist with automation tasks and routine systems management.
- Participate in troubleshooting and support senior engineers during root-cause analysis.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on operational tasks and project work.
- Contribute input during technology evaluations.
- Participate in SAFe/Agile ceremonies.
- Assist with capacity reviews and support infrastructure planning.
Krav
- 1–3 years of experience in systems administration, operations, or a related technical role.
- Working knowledge of Linux and/or Windows server administration.
- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
- Familiarity with containerization technologies (e.g., Docker).
- Basic proficiency with Git-based version control systems (GitHub, GitLab, Bitbucket).
- Experience with scripting or automation tools (PowerShell, Python, Bash) at a beginner to intermediate level.
- Experience using monitoring or observability tools.
- Foundational understanding of networking concepts (DNS, load balancing, firewalls, routing).
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or equivalent work experience is preferred.
- Familiarity with enterprise network concepts such as switching, routing, and load balancing is preferred.
- Basic exposure to container orchestration platforms (e.g., Kubernetes) is preferred.
- Understanding of CI/CD principles and DevOps workflows is preferred.
- Experience with Agile or SAFe practices is preferred.
- Exposure to identity management concepts and enterprise authentication systems is preferred.
- Entry‑level technical certifications (CompTIA Linux+, Network+, Azure Fundamentals, AWS Cloud Practitioner, etc.) is preferred.
- Exposure to Infrastructure‑as‑Code tools (Terraform, Ansible, CloudFormation) is a plus.
- Experience participating in incident response workflows or ticket-based troubleshooting.
