Emerson seeks a Principal Systems Design Engineer in Austin, TX for its NI ADG team. This hybrid role focuses on creating custom engineering solutions using NI products for large-scale turnkey projects, involving customer interaction, design, deployment, and sustainment. Requires a B.S. in Engineering and 8+ years of experience in hardware or test engineering design.

Ansvarsområden

  • Work with NI customers, sales personnel, engineering teams, alliance partners, and contract manufacturers to define, document, design, deploy, and sustain NI products tailored to specific customer requirements.
  • Gather requirements, generate specification documents, and interface with stakeholders to design, deploy, and sustain custom solutions worldwide.
  • Generate requirements documents, statements of work, and Bills of Materials.
  • Define and implement project plans, manage milestones, and conduct reviews.
  • Specify, design, prototype, test, and deploy turnkey automated solutions.
  • Direct support personnel, manage project technical deliverables, guide technical decisions, and drive field found issues to resolution.

Krav

  • B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Mechatronics or Electronics Engineering Technology.
  • Minimum of 8 years relevant industry experience in a Hardware Systems Design Role or a Test Engineering Design Role.
  • Strong understanding of electrical engineering, electronics & computer architecture.
  • Understanding of high-level programming languages (LabVIEW, TestStand, C/C++/C#).
  • Demonstrated understanding of sources of measurement error, selection of test and measurement instrumentation and equipment, schematics and wiring diagrams, integration of hardware and software, Bill of Materials creation and review.
  • Familiarity with CAD and PCB design tools.
  • Understanding of statistical analysis of data (Cp, Cpk, GR&R).
  • Knowledge of Cable Harness Design.
  • Hands-on use of schematic capture tools and PCB design tools.
  • Knowledge in Component Supplier Selection.
  • Knowledge in Compliance Certifications (CE, UL, TUV, Etc.).
  • Hands-on use of NI Hardware Platforms and Instruments.
  • Hands-on use of NI LabVIEW and Test Stand.
  • US Person (U.S. citizens, lawful permanent residents, or protected individuals as defined by 22 CFR §120) may be considered, ability to work on ITAR projects and qualify for DoD Clearances.
