Emerson is seeking a System Technical Expert Lead for its Transportation Management System (TMS). This hybrid role in St. Louis, MO, involves system configuration, troubleshooting, and analytics to optimize global freight movement. You will collaborate with various teams to translate business requirements into scalable system capabilities.

Ansvarsområden

  • Configure TMS locations, ship units, equipment, routing itineraries, consolidation, pooling, and cross-dock logic across multiple transport modes.
  • Manage the order-to-shipment lifecycle, including order release, shipment build, tendering, tracking, and delivery status, resolving exceptions proactively.
  • Serve as the functional escalation point for TMS planning, execution, and visibility issues, tracing root causes and implementing lasting solutions.
  • Build and maintain carrier and rate structures, translating business policies into system configurations.
  • Own data object and database design, govern master data standards, and document functional specifications.
  • Configure and tune planning parameters, constraints, and cost-versus-service weighting for system optimization.
  • Lead cross-functional logistics initiatives, including network consolidations and regional expansions.
  • Standardize Business Unit naming, units of measure, and other system conventions.
  • Develop and maintain enterprise logistics dashboards and decision-support tools.
  • Build and sustain automated data pipelines, ETL processes, and curated datasets using SQL and Python.
  • Lead release and upgrade readiness, including configuration governance, testing, and post-release validation.
  • Provide technical guidance and training to TMS users and stakeholders.
  • Maintain solution documentation and issue tracking, communicate progress, and anticipate future logistics technology requirements.

Krav

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, Engineering, Supply Chain, or related field required; MBA or master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in logistics, supply chain, transportation systems, analytics, or related disciplines supporting complex operational environments.
  • Strong working knowledge of Transportation Management Systems, with Oracle Transportation Management preferred.
  • Advanced analytics and data visualization experience using platforms such as Power BI, SQL‑based tools, or Oracle analytics environments.
  • Proficiency in Python for data processing, automation, and analytical workflows.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage complex, cross‑functional programs across global teams and time zones.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Five or more years of experience in logistics, supply chain systems, or analytics-focused roles, including hands-on configuration and support of a TMS.
  • Hands-on enterprise TMS experience, particularly Oracle Transportation Management (OTM), configuring rating, carrier management, itineraries, routing, agents, shipment planning, and planning parameters, including an upgrade or major release.
  • Experience with system analysis and TMS data flows, including order, item, and cost data, in a multi-system environment.
  • Deep SQL expertise for querying, analyzing, and troubleshooting enterprise databases, data models, and large transactional datasets.
  • Experience tuning optimization and planning constraints with measured improvements in cost, service, or utilization.
  • Experience with EDI, APIs, REST or SOAP web services, XML, and middleware connecting a TMS to multiple enterprise systems.
  • Advanced Python-based automation and experience orchestrating ETL and integration workflows using modern scheduling or automation frameworks for data-intensive logistics workflows and tooling.
  • Direct experience deploying enterprise-scale logistics initiatives, such as consolidation programs, mode optimization, and international network expansions.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve complex system issues independently with minimal oversight.
