Atlas Copco seeks a Strategic Purchasing Engineer in Shanghai to develop and execute purchasing strategies, manage supplier relationships, and conduct cost analysis. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, 5+ years of experience, and fluency in English and Mandarin Chinese, focusing on driving cost leadership and operational excellence.

Ansvarsområden

  • Develop and implement comprehensive purchasing strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Conduct detailed cost value analysis on parts to establish price targets.
  • Manage end-to-end supplier relationships, including portfolio management and capability assessments.
  • Support and drive supplier quality management initiatives for continuous improvement.
  • Lead efforts to reduce supply chain costs for production parts and related materials.
  • Perform thorough audits of production parts suppliers, including new and existing ones.
  • Implement regular supplier performance evaluations for assigned commodities.
  • Oversee contract framework agreements, pricing conditions, and logistics agreements.
  • Collaborate with Engineering teams in design-to-cost activities and design for manufacturing improvements.
  • Engage in technical communications with suppliers to support product design optimization.
  • Contribute to global group purchasing activities by facilitating local supplier participation.
  • Serve as a key contributor in new product development, managing purchasing costs and leading cost reduction initiatives.
  • Drive innovation in supply chain technology and processes.
  • Execute additional tasks as assigned by the Purchasing Manager.

Krav

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Supply Chain Management, or related field.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ proven experience in sourcing and strategic purchasing, ideally within production environments.
  • Supplier Quality Engineering (SQE) experience is considered an advantage.
  • Solid understanding of production processes relevant to assigned commodities (electrical, pneumatic, rubber, fasteners, catalogue components).
  • Strong experience in managing supplier relationships with a focus on quality, cost, and delivery performance.
  • Comfortable working within an international matrix organization.
  • Demonstrated negotiating skills and effective communication abilities at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient with ERP systems, particularly in Materials Management (MM) modules.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Fluency in both English and Mandarin Chinese, with strong written and verbal communication skills.
