Google Cloud Backup and Disaster Recovery (GCBDR) is seeking a Staff Software Engineer to design, develop, test, and maintain components of their secure, fully-managed SaaS platform. This role involves owning outcomes, solving complex problems, and collaborating with executive engineers to enhance system scalability and reliability for mission-critical workloads.

Ansvarsområden

  • Design, develop, test, deploy, maintain, and improve software components for the Cloud Backup and DR platform.
  • Deliver high-quality, end-to-end features and project components mostly independently, managing task priorities and timelines.
  • Participate in system design discussions, write technical documentation, and collaborate with engineers to refine component architectures.
  • Identify and resolve technical debts, improving system scalability, reliability monitoring, and testing coverage.
  • Collaborate with adjacent engineers and cross-functional partners to resolve dependencies and align on integration goals.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, a similar technical field of study, or equivalent practical experience.
  • 8 years of experience in product development.
  • Experience in software development using a general purpose programming language (e.g., Java, JavaScript).
  • Experience architecting and developing distributed systems design.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Master's degree or PhD in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • Experience leading teams of software engineers.
  • Experience defining technical charters and engineering processes for geographically distributed teams.
