Staff Applications Engineer, Computational Fluid Dynamics

I korthet

Staff Applications Engineer specializing in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) to solve complex engineering challenges for customers in automotive, aerospace, energy, and electronics. You will leverage Ansys CFD tools to deliver simulation-based solutions, support sales, conduct training, and provide customer feedback to development teams. Requires expert knowledge in fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics with 1-5+ years of experience depending on degree level.

Ansvarsområden

  • Work directly with customers to diagnose complex engineering challenges and deliver simulation-based solutions using Ansys CFD tools including Fluent, CFX, Discovery, and Rocky
  • Support sales teams in technical campaigns by articulating value propositions, running proof-of-concept demonstrations, and presenting to executive-level audiences on how simulation solves their business problems
  • Scope, plan, and deliver professional services engagements that may include collaborative projects with field engineers across disciplines and geographies
  • Teach introductory, intermediate, and advanced training classes on CFD workflows, meshing techniques, and simulation best practices to customer teams
  • Gather customer requirements and translate them into actionable product feedback for Ansys development teams, and test new software releases on industrial-scale problems
  • Own customer relationships for selected accounts, proactively engaging to understand their design workflows, technical roadblocks, and long-term simulation needs
  • Mentor team members, contribute to internal knowledge bases, and participate in cross-discipline initiatives to share best practices and build reusable solutions

Krav

  • Bachelor's, Master's, or Ph.D. in Mechanical, Chemical, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field
  • 5+ years of professional experience for Bachelor's, 3+ years for Master's, or 1+ year for Ph.D.
  • Expert-level knowledge of fluid dynamics, heat transfer, and thermodynamics applied to real engineering problems
  • Demonstrated experience using Ansys software or other commercial CAE tools to solve industry-level simulation challenges
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English, with the ability to facilitate webinars, deliver presentations, and write technical documentation
  • Willingness to travel up to 50% of the time to customer sites, training events, and internal meetings
  • Valid Singapore work permit

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience with Ansys tools such as Fluent, CFX, Discovery, optiSLang, or Rocky is a strong plus
  • Familiarity with CAD tools and meshing workflows
  • Ability to walk into a room full of skeptical engineers, listen to their problem, and walk out with a scoped simulation approach that they believe in
  • Ability to work with what you have, clarify what is missing, and move forward without creating downstream confusion
  • Ability to explain a complex tradeoff between mesh resolution and solver performance to a senior manager in two sentences without losing the technical nuance
  • Ability to stay organized across multiple customer engagements, internal projects, and deadlines, and follow up without being reminded
  • Ability to project professionalism and business acumen in customer interactions, whether it is a technical deep dive or a C-level presentation
  • Curious and flexible enough to learn new physics areas quickly, whether it is fluid-structure interaction, multiphase flows, or thermal management in electronics

Förmåner

  • Comprehensive range of health, wellness, and financial benefits
  • Total rewards include both monetary and non-monetary offerings
