Saab Australia is hiring Software Engineers (Mid-Level and Senior) for full-time roles in Melbourne, Australia. You will work on advanced defence and ICT projects, contributing to the full software development lifecycle of mission-critical systems.

Ansvarsområden

  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Mission Critical Software.
  • Support and lead in specifying, designing, implementing, integrating, testing, and deploying software.
  • Take increasing ownership of components and ensure compliance with engineering processes and system requirements.
  • Participate in system architecture and technical design decisions.
  • Review code and provide technical guidance to team members.
  • Collaborate with Product Owners, Engineers, and Stakeholders to deliver high-quality solutions.
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve complex technical issues.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement of development processes and engineering practices.
  • Support software releases and ongoing maintenance activities.

Krav

  • 4+ years of professional software development experience.
  • Fluent in at least one of the following programming languages: Java, Ada, C++, C#.
  • Experienced in both procedural and object-oriented programming paradigms.
  • Proficient in applying general-purpose and framework-specific design patterns.
  • Apply configuration management principles and use Git.
  • Demonstrate appreciation of agile methodologies and systems engineering practices.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new technologies and methodologies.
  • Australian citizen.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence Security Clearance – NV1.
  • Ability to access ITAR-restricted information.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Tertiary qualifications (Bachelor's degree) in a relevant discipline (Software Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field etc.), and/or equivalent relevant experience (preferably within the defence industry).
  • Familiarity with complex software-intensive systems (e.g. military systems) or related defence technologies is desirable.
  • Familiarity with Mavlink messaging protocol.
  • Proficient in the following programming and scripting languages: Bash, Python, Go, TypeScript.
  • Experienced with tools and technologies including DDS, IBM DOORS, Docker, and the Atlassian tool suite.
  • Skilled in software development within Linux-based environments.
  • Skilled in designing and implementing test automation solutions, including the use of test automation frameworks.
  • Capable of developing human-machine interfaces (HMIs) for interactive systems.
  • Familiarity with safety-critical or large-scale enterprise systems.
