Microsoft Azure Storage team is seeking a Software Engineer II to design and develop the next generation of their massively scalable cloud storage solution. This remote, full-time role involves solving reliability and scale requirements, contributing to design documents, writing code, and acting as a Designated Responsible Individual for system monitoring.

Ansvarsområden

  • Work with stakeholders to determine user requirements for features.
  • Contribute to the identification of dependencies and the development of design documents.
  • Create and implement code for products, services, or features, reusing code where applicable.
  • Contribute to breaking down larger work items and provide estimations.
  • Act as a Designated Responsible Individual (DRI) working on-call to monitor system/product feature/service for degradation, downtime, or interruptions and gain approval to restore.
  • Stay current with developments to improve availability, reliability, efficiency, observability, and performance of products.

Krav

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 2+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, or C# OR equivalent experience.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
  • Must pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C#, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Midlevel experience with understanding of inner development loop, build systems, and compilers, including troubleshooting pipelines and deployments.
  • Hands-on experience with compilers such as Microsoft Visual C++ (MSVC), build engines such as Microsoft Build Engine (MSBuild), and DevOps pipelines.
