This role is for a Software Development Engineer III (Level 6) within the Alexa Smart Home team in Bengaluru, India. You will lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of cross-team projects, acting as an independent technical leader and mentor for junior engineers. The position focuses on architecting and developing highly scalable cloud services to manage billions of smart devices connected to Alexa.

Ansvarsområden

  • Lead the design, development, testing, and deployment of cross-team projects.
  • Meet with stakeholders and drive execution.
  • Mentor junior engineers.
  • Lead and architect cloud services for Alexa-enabled devices.
  • Develop highly scalable services to manage smart devices connected to Alexa.
  • Work across Alexa skills, voice user interfaces, cloud services, and IoT devices.
  • Lay the foundation for learned behaviors spanning multiple devices.
  • Be the technical leader responsible for service design, development, and operations.
  • Brainstorm new ideas and work on forward-looking architectures and designs.
  • Architect, analyze, design, develop, test, and deploy software features.
  • Participate and lead in sprint planning and daily scrum.
  • Break down technical work, identify technical blockers, and navigate solutions.
  • Partner with managers and technical leaders to achieve technical consensus.
  • Author documentation to communicate vision, proposals, and designs.

Krav

  • 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
  • 5+ years of programming with at least one software programming language.
  • 5+ years of leading design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems.
  • Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • 5+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience.
  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent.
