Amazon is seeking an experienced Software Development Engineer II to join the Featured Merchant Algorithm (FMA) team in Bengaluru, Karnataka. This role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining software for high-impact features on the Amazon website, leveraging Machine Learning to enhance the customer shopping experience. The position requires a hands-on engineer with leadership qualities to drive complex projects and mentor junior engineers.

Ansvarsområden

Own and deliver software features across the full development lifecycle — design, code, test, deploy, and maintain
Design solutions for complex problems, making effective tradeoffs between new features and operational work
Ensure operational excellence by identifying and resolving root causes of issues proactively
Actively participate in code reviews, providing meaningful feedback to peers and senior engineers
Collaborate with customers, stakeholders, and peers to deliver the right solutions
Document software systems and train new team members on team processes and architecture
Mentor junior engineers and drive improvements that enhance software quality and customer experience
Coding and design — Writing, reviewing, and iterating on code for features or improvements
Stand-ups and team meetings — Syncing with the team on progress, blockers, and priorities
Code reviews — Reviewing peers' code and receiving feedback on their own
Operational support — Monitoring systems and resolving production issues
Collaboration — Working with stakeholders, Product Managers, and other engineers on requirements and tradeoffs
Documentation — Updating design docs, runbooks, or onboarding materials
Mentorship — Helping junior engineers with technical guidance

Krav

3+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
2+ years of non-internship design or architecture (design patterns, reliability and scaling) of new and existing systems experience
Experience programming with at least one software programming language

Önskade kvalifikationer

3+ years of full software development life cycle, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and operations experience
Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
