Ericsson Canada Inc. is seeking Software Developer Co-op students for an 8-16 month internship in Ottawa, Ontario, starting January 4th, 2027. This role involves developing, debugging, and testing 5G software, applying AI/ML, and creating tools, with various specialization options available.

Ansvarsområden

  • Collaborate with colleagues using Agile ways of working.
  • Develop real-time 5G base station software.
  • Apply AI/ML skills to development work.
  • Develop and code automated 5G test cases and test tools.
  • Perform software feature and integration testing on 5G lab equipment.
  • Work in 5G simulations, including signal processing with AI/ML.
  • Develop command-line and web-based tools to support software development.
  • Investigate and help resolve issues found during testing.
  • Generate test data for design validation.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues within the test environment.

Krav

  • Currently working toward a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral degree.
  • Strong interpersonal skills: collaborative, self-directed, organized, detail-oriented, and adaptable.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills in English.
  • Programming experience in any of: Python, Java, JavaScript, TypeScript, C/C++, Perl, Java SpringBoot, or HTML/CSS.
  • Actively enrolled in an accredited undergraduate, master’s, or PhD on a full-time basis at a four-year college or university at the time of the co-op.
  • Be available to work 40 hours per week.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Academic background in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Communications Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Familiarity with Linux, Gerrit, GitHub, Jenkins, Django, or Angular is an asset.
  • Knowledge of HTTP & RESTful frameworks, database fundamentals, Kubernetes, or Docker is an asset.
  • General knowledge of LTE and/or 5G wireless protocols is an asset.
  • For Data Science roles: proficiency in Python data science libraries (pandas, numpy, scipy, statsmodels) and experience with time-series analysis.
  • For Analytics/API roles: experience with REST API frameworks (FastAPI, Flask, or similar); familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS) and containerization is a plus.
