HCLTech is seeking a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in Wireless Networking for their Chennai, India location. This role involves designing, securing, and automating enterprise networks, including data center and cloud environments, and requires strong communication and leadership skills.

Ansvarsområden

  • Lead core networking fundamentals including TCP/IP stack, routing and switching protocols, WAN technologies, and IP addressing.
  • Design enterprise networks (Campus, Data Center, WAN, Cloud) with a focus on scalability, redundancy, and technology evaluation.
  • Implement modern hybrid-focused data center and cloud networking solutions (Spine-Leaf, VXLAN/EVPN, AWS/Azure/GCP).
  • Architect network security by default, including firewalls, DMZ design, Zero Trust principles, and secure access methods.
  • Design for automation using APIs, REST, Python, Ansible, and Terraform, with knowledge of SDN controllers like Cisco ACI and VMware NSX.
  • Utilize and understand network vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista) and monitoring tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Grafana).
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders, translate business needs into technical designs, perform risk analysis, and evaluate RFPs.
  • Maintain network standards, manage changes, optimize costs, and ensure SLA modeling.

Krav

  • Deep understanding of Core Networking Fundamentals: TCP/IP stack, Routing & Switching Protocols (OSPF, BGP, EIGRP, IS-IS), VLANs, STP, EVPN, VXLAN, WAN technologies (MPLS, SD-WAN), IP addressing (IPv4/IPv6, CIDR), High availability (HSRP/VRRP, ECMP), and QoS.
  • Expertise in Network Design & Architecture: Enterprise network design (Campus, Data Center, WAN, Cloud), reference architectures (Spine-Leaf, 3-tier, Clos), scalability planning, redundancy, and technology evaluation.
  • Proficiency in Data Center & Cloud Networking: Spine-Leaf architectures, VXLAN/EVPN, Cloud Networking (AWS/Azure/GCP), VPC/VNet design, hybrid connectivity (Site-to-Site VPN, ExpressRoute/Direct Connect).
  • Strong Network Security Architecture skills: Firewalls (NGFW), DMZ design, Zero Trust principles, segmentation (VRFs, micro-segmentation), secure access (NAC, 802.1X), VPNs, and DDoS mitigation concepts.
  • Familiarity with Automation & Programmability concepts and tools: APIs, REST, Python, Ansible, Terraform, SDN controllers (Cisco ACI, VMware NSX), and IaC mindset.
  • Hands-on familiarity with network vendors (Cisco, Juniper, Arista) and tools (SolarWinds, PRTG, Grafana, Visio, Draw.io, Lucidchart, Wireshark).
  • Critical Soft Skills: Stakeholder communication (IT & business), translating business needs, risk analysis, vendor negotiation, and presentation skills.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Conceptual depth in Storage networking basics (iSCSI, FC).
  • Awareness of compliance standards like ISO 27001, PCI-DSS, SOC2 (design implications).
  • Working knowledge of network automation tools and languages.
  • Conceptual depth in packet analysis.
  • Ability to operate at technical + executive levels.
  • Mentoring engineers.
