I korthet
As a Shift Lead in Support & Operations, you will be responsible for managing and supporting Messaging Technologies, primarily WebSphere MQ, across hybrid cloud environments. This role involves installation, configuration, maintenance, security setup, and troubleshooting of MQ systems, as well as collaborating with infrastructure teams and handling technical escalations.
Ansvarsområden
- Manage and support Messaging Technologies including MQ 7, 8, 9, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4 MQ internal, external, and shared hubs.
- Provide installation, maintenance, and support of WebSphere MQ on distributed platforms.
- Install MQ with HA and Clustering using SAN/NAS/NFS storages with load balancing concept.
- Administer MQ for multiple applications on different platforms in a Hybrid Cloud Domain.
- Collaborate with Infrastructure & middleware teams.
- Modify/re-design configuration/applications to resolve identified issues.
- Manage, configure and monitor MQ Listeners, Command Servers, Channel initiators, Trigger Monitors, MQ Log files, RQD & Dead Letter Queues.
- Set up IBM Websphere MQ in a cluster environment for load balancing and Failover.
- Implement IBM Websphere MQ best practices for setup/monitoring and usage.
- Analyze impact of newer versions, provide upgrade paths, and plan/upgrade servers with appropriate versions and patches.
- Set up security (SSL, TLS, Encryption, Certificates etc.) on Websphere MQ servers and associated queues/applications.
- Create message hubs with endpoints and policies over MQTT.
- Implement MQ security using OAM and SSL.
- Write/edit UNIX shell scripts.
- Support middleware technologies like WAS, JBoss etc.
- Handle Technical Escalations.
- Create SOPs ensuring compliance to Service Level Agreements (SLA) and train internal teams.
- Troubleshoot High Severity incidents & Provide RCA.
- Collaborate with internal customers and lead MQ Series standup/migration projects.
- Manage MQ/Custom client installations.
- Manage MQ objects such as Queues, Channels, Clustered Queues.
- Utilize knowledge of MQ Clustering, PUB/SUB, Exits, API, and Client access architecture.
- Configure, troubleshoot, and optimize ActiveMQ, Apache Kafka brokers, and RabbitMQ.
- Execute MQ Backup and Recovery processes.
- Utilize MQ monitoring products like BMC True sight, Tivoli, IBM Infrared 360.
- Participate in MQ Disaster Recovery exercises.
- Debug and problem-solve effectively, understanding system development methodologies.
- Recommend process improvements and demonstrate creative thinking.
- Implement or oversee the implementation of all MQ objects.
- Communicate effectively with technical and non-technical audiences.
- Apply ITIL processes (incident management, change management, problem management, request management).
- Guide/mentor other Administrators and troubleshoot issues.
- Provide 24x7 support for all applications to ensure continuous availability.
Krav
- Experience with Messaging Technologies involved MQ 7, 8, 9, 9.2, 9.3, 9.4 MQ internal, external, and shared hubs.
- Experience with IR360.
- Experience with installation, maintenance, and support of WebSphere MQ on distributed platforms.
- Experience with HA and Clustering using SAN/NAS/NFS storages with load balancing concept.
- Experience providing MQ administration support to multiple applications on different platforms in Hybrid Cloud Domain.
- Proficiency in writing/editing UNIX shell scripts.
- Experience with middleware technologies used along with MQ (e.g., WAS, JBoss).
- Strong knowledge to create a message hub (external/internal) with endpoints and policies over MQTT.
- Knowledge of implementing MQ security using OAM and SSL.
- Knowledge of various Broker MQ objects such as Queues, Channels, Clustered Queues.
- Vast knowledge on MQ Clustering, PUB/SUB, Exits, API, and Client access architecture.
- Strong knowledge on MQ Backup and Recovery processes.
- Strong knowledge on any of the MQ monitoring products like BMC True sight, Tivoli, IBM Infrared 360.
- Experience participating in MQ Disaster Recovery exercises on various platforms/environments.
- Strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent understanding of system development methodologies, techniques and tools.
- Experience implementing or overseeing the implementation of all MQ objects.
- Sound knowledge in ITIL processes: incident management, change management, problem management, and request management.
- Ability to guide/mentor other Administrators and troubleshoot issues.
