The Service Workshop Technician at ABB in Dubai is responsible for overseeing workshop operations, including the quality testing, inspection, and maintenance of switchgear systems. This role requires strong leadership and technical expertise in electrical engineering and service coordination.

Ansvarsområden

  • Supervise and coordinate workshop operations, ensuring quality testing, inspection, refurbishment, maintenance, and Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) of switchgear systems.
  • Oversee quality control activities across all inspection stages and ensure compliance with ISO and IEC standards.
  • Manage workshop personnel, customer projects, supplier quality audits, technical compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Lead workshop service activities, including LV and MV circuit breaker maintenance, module assembly, and equipment repair/retrofit.
  • Plan, schedule, and allocate resources to meet customer requirements and contractual commitments.
  • Monitor workshop performance and service job progress, ensuring accurate documentation.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Support the resolution of technical and customer service issues.
  • Maintain and monitor technician competency, training records, and certifications.
  • Ensure compliance with ABB Health, Safety, Environment (HSE), and quality policies.

Krav

  • Degree, Diploma, or Trade Qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electromechanical Engineering, or a related discipline (or equivalent industry experience).
  • Minimum 8 years of experience in low-voltage switchgear and module production, service workshop operations, electrical maintenance, service coordination, or field service execution.
  • Proven experience in supervisory or coordination roles (e.g., Service Workshop Supervisor, Service Coordinator).
  • Strong knowledge of electrical power distribution systems, switchgear maintenance, refurbishment, assembly, testing, and service operations.
  • Demonstrated expertise in service planning, resource scheduling, workflow optimization, and coordinating multiple work orders.
  • Proficiency in enterprise resource planning (ERP) and service management systems (e.g., SAP, Salesforce).
  • Practical experience using ABB switchgear engineering and design tools (e.g., MNS Engineering).
  • Solid understanding of quality, safety, and operational requirements for service and workshop activities.
