Responsible for testing Workday HCM / Finance / Integrations to ensure configurations meet business requirements and are defect-free
Works across implementation, upgrade, and support cycles focusing on quality assurance  

Key Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

 # Test Planning & Design

 Create test strategy, test plans, and test cases based on requirements
Design functional, regression, integration, and UAT test scenarios

 # Test Execution

 Execute end-to-end testing across Workday modules (HCM, Payroll, Benefits, etc.) 
Validate business processes, configurations, and data integrity 

# Defect Management 

Identify, log, track, and prioritize defects/bugs
Work with developers/consultants for resolution and retesting 

# Integration Testing 

Validate Workday integrations with external systems (ERP, payroll, vendors) 
Ensure data flow accuracy and reconciliation

 # UAT & Stakeholder Coordination 

Support User Acceptance Testing (UAT) with business users
Coordinate with functional consultants, developers, HR, payroll teams

 # Test Data & Environment Management

 Prepare and maintain test data and test environments
Ensure secure handling of sensitive HR/payroll data

 # Release & Change Testing

 Perform regression testing for Workday bi-annual releases
Validate new features before production rollout

 # Reporting & Documentation

 Maintain test evidence, execution reports, defect logs, metrics 
Provide status updates and quality reports to stakeholders

Skill Requirements

Skills Required 

# Functional

 Knowledge of Workday HCM modules (Core HR, Recruiting, Compensation, Benefits, Payroll) 
Understanding of HR business processes (Hire-to-Retire lifecycle)

 # Testing / QA

 Strong in STLC, test design, defect lifecycle
Experience in Functional, Regression, Integration, UAT testing

 # Tools

 JIRA / Azure DevOps / ALM for defect tracking
Exposure to test automation tools (good-to-have)

 # Technical (Good to have)

 Understanding of Workday integrations, APIs, EIB, reports
Data validation & SQL basics (optional)

Experience Expectations

 3–8 years in QA/testing
2+ years in Workday testing (HCM / integrations preferred)
