Qualcomm is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to develop a high-performance RISC-V Instruction Set Simulator (ISS). This role involves implementing ISA extensions in C++, ensuring simulation correctness, and contributing to developer tooling for next-generation RISC-V processors.
Ansvarsområden
- Implementing RISC-V ISA extensions (integer, floating-point, vector, security, etc.) in C++.
- Maintaining the fetch/decode/execute engine, memory protection, and privilege-level logic.
- Working on the co-simulation harness for ISS and RTL.
- Writing unit tests to verify simulator features.
- Contributing to simulator extensions and utilities.
Krav
- Solid C++ skills and ability to read unfamiliar codebases.
- Comfort with basic processor architecture (pipelines, memory, privilege levels, interrupts).
- Strong attention to detail and ability to translate specifications into tested code.
- Exposure to low-level or systems programming (embedded systems, OS, compilers, hardware description).
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Experience with RISC-V, x86, or ARM architecture.
- Familiarity with simulators or emulators (QEMU, Spike, gem5).
- Experience with GDB, ELF binaries, or bare-metal bring-up.
- Background in hardware verification or RTL co-simulation.
- Knowledge of Linux internals.
- Python 3+ experience.
