I korthet

We are seeking a Senior Software and Automation Engineer in Cairo, Egypt, to develop, integrate, automate, and support software solutions within telecommunications environments. This role involves end-to-end ownership of applications, APIs, databases, platforms, and infrastructure, with opportunities to mentor junior engineers.

Ansvarsområden

  • Design, develop, and maintain Java applications and automation solutions.
  • Develop and integrate REST and SOAP APIs.
  • Build scripts and automation tools to reduce manual work.
  • Deploy, configure, and troubleshoot applications on Linux and application servers.
  • Lead root-cause analysis across multiple layers (application, database, OS, network, infrastructure).
  • Support upgrades, migrations, incidents, and production-critical activities.
  • Maintain technical documentation and review code/solution designs.
  • Mentor junior engineers and collaborate with various teams.

Krav

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Communications, Information Technology, or a related field.
  • Approximately 4–6 years of experience in software development, automation, or application support.
  • Strong knowledge of object-oriented programming, software design, and architecture principles.
  • Hands-on experience with Java SE and Java EE, plus frameworks like Spring Boot, Spring MVC, Quarkus, Hibernate/JPA, or JSF/PrimeFaces.
  • Experience with application servers like JBoss/WildFly, Tomcat, or GlassFish.
  • Good understanding of REST APIs, SOAP web services, and service-oriented architecture.
  • Experience with Docker, containers, and Kubernetes.
  • Good working knowledge of Linux and relational databases (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or Sybase).
  • Understanding of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, firewalls, proxies, and load balancers.
  • Experience with Git and scripting languages like Bash or Python.
  • Experience with Identity and Access Management solutions, preferably Keycloak.
  • Familiarity with ticketing and service management platforms, preferably HPE Service Manager (HPSM).
  • Familiarity with telecommunications environments.
  • Knowledge of monitoring, logging, observability, and highly available systems.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Knowledge of HTML5, CSS, JavaScript, or Angular.
  • Ability to take ownership end to end and learn new technologies.
