ABB is seeking a Senior Project Engineer/Lead Engineer for Electrical HV Systems to be based in Bangalore or Chennai, India. This full-time, hybrid role involves leading engineering activities for high-voltage systems (66kV to 400kV) in industrial projects, including offshore wind, power from shore, and battery storage systems.

Ansvarsområden

Act as the technical lead for all engineering activities in assignments classified as HV system engineering complexity (66kV to 400kV).
Ensure efficient and cost-effective execution of engineering disciplines according to contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
Perform basic and detail engineering for High Voltage electrical systems in industrial projects like offshore wind farms, onshore power from shore, and battery energy storage systems.
Prepare Key SLD, Protection single line diagram, equipment arrangement plan and section.
Conduct design calculations for equipment sizing, earthing, cable tray, lighting, and lightning protection.
Develop layout engineering for equipment arrangement, cabling, earthing, lighting, and lightning protections.
Prepare equipment datasheets, specifications, technical bid evaluations, and review manufacturer documents for GIS, AIS, Power Transformers, and Shunt Reactors.
Prepare equipment BOM, cable schedule, interconnection diagram, and termination schedule for the complete HV system.
Coordinate with substation automation/SCADA systems, civil, structural, supply chain, commercial, project management, and manufacturing teams.
Estimate effort for engineering, testing, and commissioning.
Prepare Engineering Schedule in line with project schedule and document deliverable list.
Travel to customer and vendor locations to support engineering, manufacturing, and FAT activities.

Krav

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical and Electronics Engineering.
Minimum 10 to 15 years of relevant experience in Project Engineering.
Experience as a Project Engineer in at least 4 to 6 large-size projects in HV systems.
Proficiency in using design tools for relay selections, equipment sizing, earthing, and lighting calculations.
Understanding of various International Standards/statutory requirements like IEEE/IEC/ANSI.

Önskade kvalifikationer

Onshore/Offshore substation experience is preferred.
Minimum 1 to 2 years of experience in site execution is preferred.
Pre-Bid Engineering, Bid & Proposal exposure is an added advantage.
Basic knowledge of power system study and network modeling is preferred.
Basic knowledge on communication architecture, IEC 61850, and relay selections (ABB/Hitachi/GE/SEL) is preferred.
