ABB is seeking a Senior Field Service Engineer specializing in Cybersecurity for its Energy Industries division in Cheonan, South Korea. The role involves designing, implementing, and managing integrated cybersecurity solutions for Distributed Control System (DCS) environments, focusing on protecting critical industrial infrastructure using various security technologies and adhering to standards like IEC 62443 and NIST. This is an onsite, full-time position requiring extensive experience in industrial automation security and business-level English proficiency.

Ansvarsområden

  • Execute service work of medium to high complexity as per work instructions and ABB guidelines.
  • Deliver excellent customer service and identify opportunities to improve system and operational performance.
  • Design and implement integrated cybersecurity solutions for DCS environments (medium to high complexity).
  • Architect and deploy security systems using WSUS, NAC, NAS, SIEM, FIREWALL/UTM, and patch management technologies.
  • Plan and execute service work according to customer orders and expectations.
  • Ensure customer retention through superior customer experience and communication.
  • Identify new service business opportunities in cooperation with customers and ABB teams.
  • Coach technicians and engineers and supervise complex site activities.
  • Design and specify integrated DCS cybersecurity solutions, including security architecture, frameworks, and technology selection aligned with standards such as IEC 62443 and NIST.
  • Implement and integrate cybersecurity systems (e.g., WSUS, NAC, NAS, SIEM, firewall/UTM), including system hardening, secure configuration, and HMI upgrades.
  • Manage patching strategies and secure access in OT environments, supporting vulnerability management and threat detection.
  • Support end-to-end deployment, testing, and commissioning of security solutions.
  • Prepare technical documentation and design artifacts.

Krav

  • Minimum 7 years of experience in DCS security engineering, cybersecurity, or related industrial automation security roles.
  • Solid knowledge of DCS security platforms and hands-on experience with WSUS, NAC, NAS, SIEM, FIREWALL /UTM, and network security.
  • Strong background in industrial cybersecurity standards (e.g., IEC 62443, NIST Cybersecurity Framework).
  • Proven experience in system integration, threat assessment, security architecture design, vendor management, and DCS security hardening.
  • Practical skills in network security, access control, encryption, vulnerability management, and incident response.
  • Business-level proficiency in English (verbal and written).
  • Fluency in Korean.
  • Willingness to travel frequently to domestic sites (over 60%).

  • Experience in network and security design for power plants (e.g., KDHC) is preferred.
