As a Senior Design Engineer within New Product Development (NPD), you will lead the design and development of advanced products, components, equipment, and systems, with a focus on sustainability and cutting-edge technology. You will collaborate with international, multidisciplinary teams to drive innovation and ensure business impact.

Ansvarsområden

  • Lead the design and development of advanced products, components, equipment, and systems.
  • Embed sustainability and cutting-edge technology into product designs.
  • Analyze project requirements to ensure technical deliverables and customer expectations are met.
  • Drive initiatives to advance Time to Market and enhance competitive edge.
  • Maintain transparent communication with project stakeholders and raise potential issues.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional specialties like CAE, Electrical Design, and Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Oversee design reviews and ensure outputs are validated.
  • Introduce and implement advanced design and manufacturing techniques.
  • Encourage knowledge sharing and adoption of best practices across NPD teams.
  • Design modular product platforms, reusable components, and subassemblies.
  • Initiate and support CAD automation projects.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
  • 3 to 8 years of relevant experience.
  • Fundamental understanding of air compressor technology.
  • Practical experience designing compressor packages.
  • Proficiency in interpreting contract documents.
  • Insight into factors influencing product performance, quality, and aesthetics.
  • Familiarity with modular design methodologies.
  • Hands-on experience collaborating with design engineers to finalize layouts and validate outputs.
  • Technical skills in sheet metal fabrication, piping system design, flange selection, and heavy fabrication.
  • Demonstrated ownership of projects from initial concept through to delivery.
  • Commitment to adhering to Atlas Copco’s design codes, standards, and quality norms.
  • Expertise in the product development lifecycle.
  • Familiarity with design tools such as DFMEA, design review processes, DFM, DFA, and design for serviceability principles.
  • Experience overseeing external design agency work (onsite and remotely).
  • Strong proficiency with CAD software including Autodesk Inventor and AutoCAD.
  • Experience with ERP (BPCS), Autodesk Vault, and PLM (Enovia) systems.
