ABB is seeking a Senior Design Engineer for LV Switchgear (Mechanical) in Nashik, India. This full-time, on-site role involves supporting engineering activities, cost-effectively delivering designs according to specifications, and collaborating with senior engineers to collect data and produce engineering designs for projects.

Ansvarsområden

  • Support engineering activities in all types of project sizes and complexities, under the supervision of senior engineers.
  • Collect data and support the production of engineering designs.
  • Review customer specifications, commercial/technical documents, and product requirements.
  • Identify and define the preliminary scope of work for Switchgear and its associated components.
  • Prepare Bills of Materials, Layout Drawings, Single line Drawings, Cable Scheduling, and Specifying Review documents.
  • Collaborate with engineers within the Business Unit to generate technical solutions for ABB MNS products.
  • Prepare sets of Electrical Drawings including General Arrangement, SLD, Typical Wiring, and detailed drawings.
  • Apply expertise in Switchgear Product Standardization and IEC Standards.
  • Demonstrate expertise and understanding of fault level calculations, switchgear ratings, protection philosophy, and component selection of LV Switchgear.
  • Prepare customer-facing Closeout / As-built documents.
  • Engage in customer discussions supporting Project Management and Sales teams.
  • Prepare Change Order documents to support Project Management.
  • Work closely with the Project Management team for efficient project execution from Bid to handover.

Krav

  • Degree in Electrical engineering from a reputed university (full-time).
  • 10 to 15 years of experience in designing Low Voltage Switchgear, including electrical power distribution and Motor Control Centers.
  • Ability to analyze customer technical documentation and apply ABB product offerings to meet expectations efficiently, while proposing alternative solutions to optimize profitability.
  • Hands-on experience with Electrical and 2D layout drawing tools such as EPLAN Electric P8, AutoCAD.
  • Strong knowledge of relay protection & control schemes, schematics, and communication network diagrams.
  • Excellent communication skills to effectively engage with internal and external customers.
