WeQuel is looking for a Senior Data Engineer for a long-term consulting assignment in Södertälje, Sweden. The role involves developing scalable data platforms, strengthening data governance, and working with Databricks and cloud-based data solutions. The position is ideal for experienced data engineers with strong Python and SQL skills, preferably with AWS experience.
Ansvarsområden
- Design, develop, and maintain scalable data platforms and data pipelines with a strong focus on Databricks
- Drive improvements to the existing Databricks platform, architecture, and capabilities
- Design, develop, and maintain robust ETL and data pipelines for large-scale operational data
- Design and implement data governance models, metadata management, and data catalog capabilities
- Ensure high standards for data quality, governance, discoverability, security, and compliance
- Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code (IaC) solutions for Databricks and related cloud services
- Build automated, reliable, and reproducible platform environments
- Design technical solutions for complex data engineering and platform challenges
- Collaborate closely with Developers, Data Scientists, Machine Learning Engineers, and business stakeholders
- Translate technical and business requirements into governed and production-ready data products
- Contribute to the continuous development, operation, and maintenance of the organization's data platform
Krav
- Several years of professional experience as a Data Engineer, Platform Engineer, or in a similar senior data engineering role
- Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience
- Strong hands-on experience working with Databricks and Apache Spark
- Proven experience using Databricks in production environments
- Strong experience working with cloud-based data platforms, preferably AWS
- Strong programming skills in Python and SQL
- Experience designing, developing, and maintaining ETL and data pipelines
- Experience implementing Infrastructure as Code (IaC) for Databricks and related cloud infrastructure
- Strong understanding of data governance, data quality, metadata management, and data discoverability
- Experience designing scalable, secure, and robust data platform solutions
- Strong understanding of modern data platform architecture and data engineering best practices
- Experience implementing governance capabilities in complex data environments
- Ability to independently drive technical improvements and solve complex platform and data engineering challenges
- Experience collaborating with both technical and business stakeholders
- Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to translate business and technical requirements into scalable, production-ready technical solutions
- Fluent in English, both written and spoken
