Microsoft seeks a skilled Senior Corporate Counsel for Privacy Advocacy and Regulatory Affairs (PARA) to advance its data protection and privacy strategy. This role involves engaging with internal and external stakeholders, providing legal and policy guidance on privacy, AI, and other regulatory domains, and ensuring compliance with privacy laws.

Provide guidance on data protection and privacy regulation issues.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
Execute against PARA’s strategic vision aligned with Microsoft’s values and priorities.
Offer legal and policy guidance on accessibility and privacy issues to product, marketing, and sales teams.
Facilitate compliance with privacy laws, regulations, and the Microsoft Privacy Standard.
Drive innovation and efficiency in PARA’s operations using AI and other technologies.
Foster a culture of collaboration, learning, diversity, and inclusion.

Krav

Juris Doctor Degree or international equivalent degree.
6+ years experience as a practicing attorney with relevant experience in law and policy, in a global context OR equivalent experience.
Active license to practice law in a jurisdiction and capable of meeting admission requirements in relevant jurisdiction.

In-house counsel experience.
Expertise in data protection and privacy, with a deep understanding of the interplay between data protection, privacy, and other regulatory domains, including cybersecurity, digital safety, responsible AI, accessibility, and market regulation.
Demonstrated formal or informal leadership skills, including the ability to influence and inspire a diverse and distributed team.
The ability to persuade, influence, and build trust with internal and external stakeholders.

Förmåner

Typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $147,000 - $258,000 per year.
Base pay range in San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area is USD $185,900 - $278,900 per year.
Certain roles may be eligible for benefits and other compensation.
