Curries (an ASSA ABLOY company) is hiring a Senior Buyer in Mason City, Iowa. This onsite role involves leading complex procurement activities, developing sourcing and supplier strategies, and managing cost, quality, and risk objectives. The Senior Buyer will also serve as a subject matter expert, mentor junior buyers, and drive continuous improvement initiatives within the supply chain team.

Ansvarsområden

  • Lead complex, high-value, and business-critical procurement activities.
  • Develop category and supplier strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Lead complex RFQs, supplier selections, negotiations, transitions, and contracting.
  • Manage high-value, business-critical, or multi-category spend portfolios.
  • Drive cost-reduction programs and identify savings opportunities.
  • Build advanced benchmarks, should-cost analyses, and supplier cost models.
  • Identify value opportunities including material alternatives, specification improvements, and process redesign.
  • Lead supplier business reviews, performance scorecards, and corrective actions.
  • Manage strategic supplier relationships and resolve complex concerns.
  • Establish contingency and risk-mitigation plans for critical suppliers.
  • Design replenishment and inventory strategies.
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to resolve systemic issues.
  • Improve procurement processes, controls, dashboards, and reporting.
  • Champion the practical use of ERP capabilities, analytics, automation, and AI.
  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Coach Buyer I and Buyer II team members.
  • Promote a safe and respectful work environment.
  • Travel occasionally.

Krav

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations, or a related field preferred.
  • An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
  • Five or more years of progressive experience in procurement, supply chain, manufacturing, operations, or a related function preferred.
  • Demonstrated experience leading complex sourcing, negotiations, supplier-performance, cost-reduction, risk-mitigation, and cross-functional initiatives.
  • Advanced knowledge of strategic sourcing, cost analysis, supplier management, materials planning, inventory, and supply risk.
  • Advanced experience working with ERP or MRP systems, analytical tools, and manufacturing supply chains preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills, including spend analysis, market benchmarking, should-cost thinking, and business-case development.
  • Ability to lead complex negotiations and influence senior internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong business judgment with the ability to manage ambiguity, risk, competing priorities, and high-impact decisions.
  • Ability to translate complex information into clear, concise recommendations.
  • Experience improving processes, establishing standards, and leading change.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach others and transfer procurement knowledge effectively.
  • APICS, CPM, CPSM, or related professional certification is beneficial.
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment.
