Sandvik Mining is hiring an entry-level Rock Tools Technician to support rock tools contracts by managing inventory, repairing tools, and providing technical guidance. This role is ideal for individuals with little experience seeking a career in the mining industry and who are customer-focused and willing to learn new skills.

Ansvarsområden

  • Manage rock tools inventory, tracking new issues, discards, and losses.
  • Repair and maintain rock tools according to defined specifications.
  • Deliver rock tools products to customers.
  • Utilize Rock Tools Management System to monitor and report on tool performance.
  • Troubleshoot and provide technical recommendations for improvements to supervisors and sales/service representatives.
  • Report occurrences of improper usage or selection by operators.
  • Complete accurate time records, technical reports, and failure reports.
  • Build strong relationships with the rock tools team and internal/external customers.
  • Perform daily/weekly stock counts.
  • Perform other relevant duties as assigned by the Supervisor.
  • Comply with safety policies and regulations.
  • Identify and report unsafe work habits, incidents, and near misses.
  • Perform risk assessments ('Take Five') before each task.
  • Maintain hand tools and equipment for safe operation.
  • Maintain an orderly work area and meet housekeeping requirements.
  • Attend Environmental, Health and Safety related trainings.
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).

Krav

  • Completion of Secondary School (High school).
  • Knowledge and/or experience with industry-specific equipment (mining or construction) would be an asset.
  • Previous knowledge and/or experience with Sandvik products would be an asset.
  • Ability to work as part of an integrated, broad team.
  • Detail-oriented.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexible, self-motivated with demonstrated initiative.
  • Ability to work with Outlook and Microsoft Office.
  • Valid driver’s license in good standing.
  • Ability and willingness to work varied shifts (as required).
