We are seeking Research Scientists to join our Artist-First AI Music Lab, focusing on generative audio technologies for music. Responsibilities include conducting research in areas like vocal synthesis, post-training alignment, and audio editing using diffusion or flow matching models. The role requires a Ph.D. and strong skills in Python, PyTorch, and machine learning, with opportunities to impact millions of users.

Ansvarsområden

  • Conduct groundbreaking research in generative audio using diffusion or flow matching models.
  • Focus on vocal synthesis, post-training alignment techniques (e.g., DPO, RLHF, KTO), or iterative music generation and audio editing.
  • Run large-scale experiments using Spotify's infrastructure and reach an audience of over 700 million monthly active users.
  • Create practical applications that harness generative technologies.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including scientists, engineers, product managers, and designers.
  • Publish research findings, deliver talks, and attend top conferences.

Krav

  • Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in generative modeling, machine learning, music information retrieval, speech processing, audio processing, signal processing, probabilistic modeling, or computer vision.
  • Deep expertise in vocal/speech synthesis, post-training alignment techniques, or audio-to-audio generation and text-guided music editing.
  • Publications at leading AI/ML/Audio conferences (e.g., ICLR, NeurIPS, ICML, ICASSP, ISMIR, INTERSPEECH).
  • Strong coding skills in Python, PyTorch, and NumPy.
  • Creative problem-solving ability.
  • Passion for building outstanding products that add real value.
  • Enthusiasm for turning research ideas into scalable products.
  • Ability to explain complex topics clearly and build strong relationships.
