ABB seeks an R&D Senior Engineer in Quartino, Switzerland, to validate and customize UPS systems. This hybrid role involves leading technical validation, managing test partners, and conducting root cause analysis for power protection applications.

Ansvarsområden

  • Lead technical validation and customization of OEM 1ph and 3ph low voltage Uninterruptable Power Supplies (UPS), batteries, and accessories.
  • Manage test partners (UL, Intertek, Dekra, Eurofins, etc.) to scope and plan test programs for compliance with IEC or UL standards.
  • Manage technical specifications of assigned products and support the Product Manager with business cases for product development.
  • Drive root cause analysis and corrective actions for issues found during qualification testing and at customer sites.
  • Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art technologies and collaborate with the research center and stakeholders to identify new UPS technologies.

Krav

  • Master's or Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering.
  • More than five years of professional experience in electrical engineering.
  • Experience working with power electronic systems.
  • Experience in the use of various measuring equipment in a laboratory environment.
  • Knowledge of product regulations and standards, including IEC and UL.
  • Experience working with external laboratories and certification bodies.
  • Knowledge of ECNs (Engineering Change Notifications), BOMs (Bills of Materials), and documentation systems.
  • Experience with failure investigations and Root Cause Analysis (RCA).
  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
