Synopsys is hiring a Staff Engineer in Hillsboro, Oregon to work on computational lithography models for semiconductor manufacturing. This position enables semiconductor manufacturers to accelerate production and solve complex lithography challenges.

Ansvarsområden

  • Design and implement optimization techniques to reduce model calibration runtime while maintaining accuracy.
  • Prototype and develop new mathematical models for lithography simulation in C++.
  • Calibrate and tune complex non-linear model parameters using statistical analysis and numerical optimization.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to understand technical requirements and integrate modeling solutions.
  • Analyze outlier data points and develop sampling strategies to improve model robustness.
  • Maintain and extend existing computational lithography models, diagnosing performance and correctness issues.
  • Troubleshoot model behavior with field engineers and customers, gather requirements, and validate solutions.

Krav

  • PhD in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Physics, Applied Mathematics, or related field strongly preferred (recent PhD graduates encouraged to apply), OR MS in a related field with approximately 5 years of directly relevant industry experience.
  • Strong programming skills in C++ for performance-critical numerical software.
  • Strong programming skills in Python for prototyping and data analysis.
  • Deep background in physical modeling, statistical analysis, and optimization methods.
  • Solid foundation in numerical computation, including algorithms for solving non-linear systems and parameter fitting.
  • Demonstrated ability to analyze complex datasets and translate findings into model improvements.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience in computational lithography, optical modeling, or image processing is a strong plus.
  • Background working on large, complex software projects with multiple contributors and long product lifecycles is a strong plus.
