Synopsys is hiring a Sr. R&D Engineer to contribute to the development of LS-DYNA and related software products. This role requires an in-depth understanding of the finite element method, computational mechanics principles, and strong programming skills. The position is based in Livermore, CA, with a hybrid working schedule.

Ansvarsområden

  • Design, implementation, maintenance, testing, and documentation of software modules and sub-systems.
  • Employ best practices in software development.
  • Perform bug verification, release testing, and beta support.
  • Research and resolve issues found by QA or product support.
  • Understand marketing requirements, including target environments, performance criteria, and competitive issues.

Krav

  • Bachelor's Degree with 2 years of professional experience, or Master's Degree in Aerospace, Biomechanical, Mechanical Engineering, or other natural science discipline.
  • Working experience with technical software development proven by academic, research, or industry projects.
  • Good understanding and skills in programming.
  • Must be located (or able to relocate) to Livermore, CA onsite at our Ansys office (hybrid working schedule is allowed).

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Master's Degree or PhD Preferred.
  • Technical knowledge and experience with finite element simulation (e.g. LS-DYNA, Ansys), and CAD modeling.
  • Background in computational solid mechanics, numerical methods, and preferably on high-performance computing on C/GPUs.
  • Knowledge of fluid mechanics, electromagnetics, computational geometry, or computer graphics is an advantage.
  • Experience with Fortran or C.
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to learn quickly and collaborate with others in a geographically distributed team.
