ABB is seeking an R&D Engineer focused on Certification. This role involves executing product tests, managing certification processes with external agencies, and ensuring compliance with international standards like CE, UL, EMC, LVD, and RED. The position requires a minimum of 2 years of experience in product certification or engineering design.

Ansvarsområden

  • Set up and execute product tests according to standard methodologies.
  • Document test results meticulously.
  • Collaborate with project managers and team members on certification applications and product descriptions.
  • Prepare and submit testing samples to external agencies.
  • Facilitate communication between external bodies and internal teams for smooth certification progress.
  • Escalate certification challenges to management.
  • Summarize manufacturing requirements based on certification coverage.
  • Maintain certifications and manage renewals to avoid business impact.

Krav

  • Minimum 2 years of professional experience in product certification, compliance, or engineering design.
  • In-depth knowledge of CE directives (EMC, LVD, RED), UL certification standards, and other international regulatory requirements.
  • Proficiency in English for technical documentation and international standards.
  • Deep knowledge of product safety and certification.
  • Understanding of regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to prepare technical documentation.
  • Capability to evaluate complex compliance requirements and translate them into actionable engineering solutions.
  • Effective communication skills with internal and external teams.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical content.
  • Proactive problem-solving skills to identify and resolve obstacles in the certification process.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience with EX (explosive atmospheres) or SIL (Functional Safety) certification is highly preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree or master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Automation or related field.
  • Ability to be an effective contributor in cross-functional and multi-cultural teams.
