Saab Australia is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead critical Defence Land capability development projects, including feasibility studies. This role involves collaborating with government and industry stakeholders to shape future capability decisions and deliver evidence-based outcomes. The position is available in Adelaide, Brisbane, or Canberra.
Ansvarsområden
- Lead the planning that shapes the future Land capability development.
- Collaborate with government and industry stakeholders to support sovereign capability.
- Lead the delivery of critical Defence Land capability development projects, including feasibility studies.
- Inform future capability decisions.
- Drive complex, high-profile work at the front end of major Defence programs.
- Collaborate with Defence customers, engineering specialists and industry partners to deliver evidence-based outcomes.
- Lead multidisciplinary teams to deliver the first three Feasibility Study Official Orders.
- Ensure Feasibility Study Official Orders are completed on time, within budget and to the highest quality standards.
- Develop and execute Land capability development projects, including Feasibility Study plans covering all functional and programmatic requirements.
- Deliver project outcomes and KPIs in accordance with the Contract Directives and Capability Requirement Acceptance.
- Manage internal and external dependencies to ensure synchronised delivery.
- Ensure Defence customer requirements are met and validated during the required updates and deliverables.
- Be responsible for planning, governance, stakeholder engagement, project controls and risk management.
- Work closely with the Program Director and Capability Modernisation Manager to ensure seamless integration with broader program deliverables.
Krav
- Accomplished Project Manager with experience delivering Defence or other complex engineering programs.
- Proven ability to lead cross-functional teams, manage competing priorities and build trusted relationships with customers and stakeholders.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex Defence or systems engineering projects.
- Strong knowledge of project planning, governance, scheduling, risk management and project controls.
- Experience leading multidisciplinary teams and engaging with Defence customers, industry partners and subcontractors.
- Commercial awareness, including contract management and scope control.
- Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM/CSSR) or similar project performance frameworks.
- Tertiary qualifications in Engineering, Science or Business.
- Australian citizenship and eligibility to obtain and maintain an NV1 clearance.
