Atlas Copco seeks a technically minded Project Leader for its Centrifugal Compressor Development team in Wilrijk, Belgium. The ideal candidate has a Master's in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience, with strong project leadership and communication skills.

Ansvarsområden

  • Lead product development and technology development projects for centrifugal compressors.
  • Bring together experts from different disciplines, departments, and international locations.
  • Create alignment around common objectives and help multidisciplinary teams move projects forward successfully.
  • Understand technical challenges, facilitate technical trade-offs, and help teams make well-founded decisions.
  • Maintain an overview of the complete project scope, planning, budget, and risks.
  • Proactively identify obstacles, manage uncertainties, and help the team navigate demanding situations.
  • Lead through influence rather than hierarchy, building trust and fostering collaboration.
  • Communicate complex topics concisely to project teams, stakeholders, and divisional management.
  • Understand customer challenges and keep customer value at the center of decision making.

Krav

  • Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Experience leading technical projects in a multidisciplinary engineering environment.
  • Ability to understand complex technical concepts and facilitate engineering decision-making.
  • Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
  • Pragmatic, result-oriented mindset with the ability to work effectively in situations with uncertainty.
  • Ability to build trust and collaboration across teams, functions, and cultures.
  • Strong team player with a collaborative leadership style.
  • Fluent in English; knowledge of Dutch is considered an advantage.

  • While not expected to be the deepest technical specialist in every domain, the ability to understand technical challenges is key.
  • On-the-job training may be available for candidates who only partly meet the profile.
