As a Calculation Project Engineer at Atlas Copco Group in Wilrijk, you will analyze and optimize machine subsystems using mathematical models and simulations. You will collaborate internationally and work within a hybrid model.

Ansvarsområden

  • Analyze, size, and optimize functional machine subsystems using theoretical acumen and mathematical models.
  • Follow projects from initial concept and lab prototype through to series production.
  • Define technical specifications for mechanical and thermodynamic systems.
  • Run calculations for machine design, including heat/energy transfer, fluid mechanics, efficiencies, strength, and vibrations.
  • Develop virtual models toward full digital twins.
  • Partner with CFD and FEA teams by defining boundary conditions and evaluating simulation outcomes.
  • Define test programs and monitor prototype testing.
  • Analyze field installation data.
  • Apply international standards (ISO, CE, PED, ASME).
  • Troubleshoot root causes for production or field issues and implement data-backed solutions.
  • Secure and share acquired knowledge.

Krav

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Engineering or equivalent through experience.
  • Strong technical knowledge, particularly in thermodynamics and mechanical design.
  • Fluent communication skills in English.
  • Strong analytical mindset to define boundary conditions for CFD/FEA, evaluate simulation results, and build digital twin models.
  • Sound understanding of international engineering standards and regulations (ISO, CE, PED, ASME).
  • Independent, hands-on team player who embraces fast iterative design, sets clear priorities, and communicates science-backed opinions respectfully.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Experience with mathematical modeling or simulation software (such as MATLAB and Simulink) is considered a clear plus.
  • Knowledge of Dutch is a plus.
