Ansvarsområden

  • Pitch story ideas tied to the news cycle and contribute to longer-term projects.
  • Book, prepare for, record, and produce interviews with sources.
  • Write scripts and shape narratives for episodes, focusing on pacing, tone, and story arc.
  • Travel for and produce field reporting when stories require it.
  • Log, cut, and arrange tape, build assemblies, score moments, and handle production tasks.
  • Balance multiple episodes in production simultaneously.
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships with Wall Street Journal reporters, editors, and staff.

Krav

  • A minimum of 4 years producing audio in a fast-paced, high-volume newsroom or podcast operation.
  • Experience producing a daily podcast is strongly preferred.
  • Demonstrated ability to produce both longform and shortform content across narrative and interview-driven formats.
  • Strong scriptwriting and story editing ability, with a feel for pacing and narrative structure.
  • Solid technical skills across editing software, including Adobe Creative Suite, Pro Tools, or similar programs.
  • Enthusiasm for a high-intensity daily production schedule.
  • A genuine passion for the Wall Street Journal's reporting and business news broadly.
