Amazon Freight is building a new tech organization to innovate its transportation network. This Principal Technical Program Manager role focuses on defining and delivering large-scale cross-organizational programs, owning technology roadmaps, and driving business and system-level reviews to ensure scalable network execution strategies.
This role requires strong business judgment, exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills, and experience translating complex transportation economics into actionable strategies.
Ansvarsområden
- Define and deliver large-scale, cross-organizational programs by identifying gaps between architectures, services, and organizations, decomposing complex problems into clear solutions, and driving alignment across engineering teams toward coherent technology strategies.
- Own technology roadmaps for broad sets of systems or manage a portfolio of programs, applying deep technical knowledge to evolve, improve, and simplify technologies while minimizing recurring engineering effort.
- Drive business and system-level reviews, assess risk, and represent complex decisions and trade-offs clearly to senior leadership, enabling informed decision-making up to three levels above your role.
- Create, optimize, and drive adoption of mechanisms that ensure long-term program success, proactively steering teams away from prior failure patterns and identifying when additional technical guidance is needed.
- Amplify impact across the organization by mentoring other program managers, sharing best practices, and contributing to talent development through assessments and community events.
Krav
- 7+ years of technical product or program management experience
- 10+ years of working directly with engineering teams experience
- 5+ years of software development experience
- Experience managing programs across cross functional teams, building processes and coordinating release schedules
