Microsoft's Azure Data engineering team seeks a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design, development, and operation of a next-generation data movement service. This role involves influencing product vision, managing a team of engineers, and driving engineering excellence in a collaborative, fast-paced environment focused on data integration and analytics for the age of AI.

Ansvarsområden

  • Influence and align product vision by collaborating with customers, partners, product management, and engineering teams.
  • Manage a team of high-caliber Software Engineers, ensuring project and development excellence and technical leadership.
  • Deliver high-quality results with full ownership and take the product to the next level.
  • Own career development of the team through active coaching.
  • Create a strong team culture of engineering excellence, customer passion, collaboration, diversity, and inclusion.
  • Hire and develop the best.
  • Design, build, and operate a next generation service that transfers large volumes of data from various source systems to target systems with minimal latency.
  • Maintain user-friendly interfaces for advanced data movement/replication scenarios.

Krav

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, or related technical discipline AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Experience in data integration or migrations or ELT or ETL tooling is mandatory.
  • 4+ years leading teams delivering complex cross functional features with high business impact.
  • Working in agile teams with strong customer focus.
  • Good communication and cross group collaboration skills.
  • Demonstrated experience leading and growing teams.
  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements, including Microsoft Cloud Background Check.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Master's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field AND 12+ years technical engineering experience with coding in languages including, but not limited to, C, C++, C#, Java, JavaScript, or Python OR equivalent experience.
  • Demonstrated experience in building cloud services with multi-tier architecture.
  • Experience working in the Data domain, dealing with high volumes of data, API traffic, with a mindset of security, scalability and performance.
  • Experience in Azure, Exchange, or other cloud and distributed systems is a big plus.
