Microsoft is seeking a Principal Manager, System Level Test & Manufacturing Engineering to lead the Penang SLT organization. This role involves overseeing test strategy, execution, high-volume manufacturing, and quality learning for custom silicon products. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in semiconductor engineering and leadership, with experience in NPI, qualification, and production ramp of complex silicon products.

Ansvarsområden

Lead the Penang SLT organization responsible for test strategy, test-content integration, System-to-ATE execution, high-volume manufacturing, diagnostics, and quality learning.
Lead SLT production readiness and execution at OSAT partners, including capacity, equipment, platform stability, test time, yield, and operational readiness.
Establish manufacturing health metrics and drive performance against yield, quality, capacity, cycle-time, and cost targets.
Lead cross-functional resolution of production excursions and systemic manufacturing issues.
Drive continuous improvement of SLT effectiveness, stability, and scalability across manufacturing sites.
Engage in System-to-ATE (S2ATE) execution, establishing correlation between system/SLT behavior and manufacturing ATE results.
Identify gaps between system-level failures and ATE/SLT coverage, and drive improvements in manufacturing test methodology and content.
Partner with Product Engineering and Test Engineering to translate system-level learning into ATE and SLT screening improvements.
Use system, SLT, ATE, RMA and fleet data to continuously improve outgoing quality and reduce manufacturing escapes.
Lead system-level failure triage and diagnostics across silicon, package, hardware, firmware, and software boundaries.
Drive RMA learning back into manufacturing test coverage and screening strategies.
Establish scalable diagnostic methodologies to accelerate failure isolation and disposition.
Partner with quality, system integration and product engineering teams to identify and close manufacturing test escapes.
Lead, coach, and develop a high-performing team of SLT and product engineers.
Build technical depth and succession across SLT development, diagnostics, data analytics, characterization, RMA, and manufacturing execution.
Define clear technical ownership and accountability across products and manufacturing partners.
Attract, develop, and retain engineering talent while building a culture of collaboration, technical excellence, and continuous learning.
Balance resources and priorities across multiple silicon programs, product ramps, and production priorities.
Serve as the APAC based SLT leadership interface across Silicon Engineering, Product Engineering, System Validation, Firmware, Manufacturing Quality, Supply Chain, and external manufacturing partners.
Drive alignment and decision-making across organizations where issues span traditional functional boundaries.
Communicate SLT manufacturing health, quality risks, technical gaps, and recovery plans to engineering and manufacturing leadership.
Influence silicon and system design teams to incorporate design-for-test, design-for-debug, and manufacturing learnings into future products.

Krav

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science or related technical discipline.
10+ years of semiconductor product/test/validation engineering experience, including significant experience with system-level test, product engineering or high-volume manufacturing.
10+ years of technical or people leadership experience, leading engineering teams or major cross-functional silicon/manufacturing programs.
Demonstrated experience taking complex silicon products through first-silicon bring-up, NPI, qualification, production ramp, and high-volume manufacturing.
Experience with high-performance silicon such as CPU, GPU, AI accelerator or complex SoC products, including system-level validation/test and manufacturing screening.
Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements.
Ability to pass the Microsoft Cloud Background Check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.
Eligibility to access export-controlled information, requiring verification of citizenship or residency status.
Must provide proof of country of citizenship or US residency/protected status, and citizenship will be verified with a valid passport (or other documents for lawful permanent residents, refugees, and asylees).

Demonstrate knowledge of SLT architecture, test content, diagnostics, telemetry, automation, and production infrastructure.
Experience managing SLT or product-test execution at OSAT/high-volume semiconductor manufacturing partners.
Strong understanding of ATE, SLT, and system-level correlation and manufacturing test coverage.
Knowledge of advanced SoC technologies such as PCIe, CXL, UCIe, SerDes, DDR/HBM, ARM processors, NoC/mesh and security.
Experience using production and fleet/RMA data to identify test coverage gaps and drive manufacturing improvements.
Familiarity with Python, C/C++ or equivalent languages for test, diagnostics, automation, and data analysis.
Demonstrated ability to lead complex technical issues involving multiple engineering organizations and external suppliers.
Strong communication and executive presentation skills with the ability to translate complex technical issues into clear risk, impact, decision, and action.
