ABB is seeking a Principal Engineer in Bangalore, India, to lead technology and software development. This hybrid role involves designing microservice architectures, implementing best software development and DevOps practices, and contributing to the full software development lifecycle. The ideal candidate has 15+ years of experience in C#/.NET, IoT API design, and container technologies.

Ansvarsområden

  • Initiate and drive technology, software, product, and/or solution development using in-depth technical expertise.
  • Act as the first point of contact in Research and Development (R&D) for in-depth product or technology-related issues.
  • Support strategic corporate technology management and future product/software/solution architecture.
  • Design and develop greenfield products and solutions using a microservice architecture.
  • Follow best software development practices for high-quality products and user experience.
  • Participate in the whole software development lifecycle, following best DevOps practices.
  • Act as a project leader or senior project member, providing expertise in tools, processes, and methods.
  • Manage or coordinate major technology/engineering projects or product platforms.
  • Leverage deep understanding of relevant standards when developing new technologies/products.
  • Provide support for resolving customer issues and guide on root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Anticipate and propose actions to mitigate possible quality problems in R&D projects.
  • Drive relevant product quality and process improvement actions/programs.

Krav

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
  • 15+ years of professional hands-on experience in C# language using .NET/.NET Core and web development technologies.
  • Experience in IoT API design (e.g. REST, WebSocket) and middleware-patterns (e.g. MQTT, AMQP).
  • Excellent understanding of SOLID principles, design patterns, architectural patterns, design tools, data structures.
  • Practical skills in using Docker/Kubernetes or other container orchestration technologies.
  • Experience in using Git VCS.
  • Familiarity with relational and non-relational databases.
  • Experience in working within agile teams, e.g., using SCRUM or SAFe.
  • Hands-on knowledge and experience in writing unit and integration tests.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Linux administration and RedHat OpenShift and MicroShift will be an added advantage.
  • Experience with React JS would be an added advantage.
  • Experience with industrial communication technologies, e.g., OPC UA, would be an added advantage.
  • Experience in structured documentation methods using, e.g., UML, would be an added advantage.
  • Experience in Industrial Automation domain would be a plus.
