ABB is looking for a Principal Designer in Beijing, China, to oversee the mechanical design of MV switchgear and manage the mechanical design team. This role requires a Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering, over 8 years of experience, and strong leadership skills to ensure efficient team operations and project delivery.

Ansvarsområden

  • Responsible for daily management, task allocation, progress control, and assessment of the mechanical design team.
  • Coordinate team design work and sort out workflow standards to ensure efficient team operation.
  • Select standard structural schemes and design non-standard schemes according to specific engineering requirements of MV switchgear.
  • Cooperate with design institutes to optimize technical solutions and answer customer technical questions.
  • Lead new functions of MV switchgear to meet application requirements of different industry segments.
  • Control project risks and product costs and ensure projects are delivered on schedule with qualified quality.
  • Coach and train new employees on professional business and design skills.
  • Support pre-sales technical work, complete confirmation of product design schemes, and provide technical support for project negotiation.

Krav

  • Bachelor degree or above, major in mechanical engineering or mechanism related.
  • More than 8 years of working experience in mechanical design of MV switchgear.
  • Good knowledge of machining, familiar with material properties, and understanding of machinability and cost of designed parts.
  • Good command of power system knowledge and MV switchgear technology on manufacture process and standards.
  • Familiar with MS Word, Excel, AutoCAD, Solidworks.
  • Ability to communicate in English, both written and oral.
  • Highly responsible, self-motivated, and willing to take on additional tasks.
  • A very strong learning ability and pragmatic spirit.
  • Has a positive progressive attitude under pressure to work.
  • Strong sense of result orientation, quality awareness and quick execution.
