Synopsys is looking for a People Consultant for the EMEA region based in Portugal. This role involves managing complex HR cases, driving people initiatives, ensuring HR practice consistency, and supporting employee experience. The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree and solid HR experience with strong knowledge of EMEA employment law.

Ansvarsområden

  • Provide guidance on People policies, processes, and sensitive cases to managers and employees.
  • Support complex People operations issues and improve service delivery across the region.
  • Contribute to scalable and effective ways of working across teams and countries.
  • Support employee and manager matters related to performance, promotion, compensation, and sick leave, ensuring consistency and compliance.
  • Partner with Employee Relations, Legal, and People Partners on disciplinary matters and terminations.
  • Support processes like reduction in force, labor law updates, and works council coordination.
  • Maintain country or regional policies and knowledge-based content.
  • Support managers through organizational changes, team transitions, and People process implementation.
  • Help translate employee feedback and engagement insights into practical actions.
  • Support integration and change activities, including leader transitions and new country setup/shutdown.
  • Support Mergers and Acquisitions-related employment changes.
  • Support performance management processes and coach managers on performance conversations.
  • Contribute to retention and employee experience efforts.
  • Partner on manager capability-building and People process enablement.

Krav

  • Bachelor's degree in human resources, Business Administration, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Solid human resources experience, ideally in a complex, multi-country environment.
  • Strong understanding of employment law, compliance, and human resources practices across multiple EMEA countries.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting employee relations, manager guidance, and operational People processes including performance management, terminations, and policy application.
  • Proficiency with human resources technology and using data to inform decisions.
  • Additional European language skills are valued, particularly German, French, or Spanish.

  • Ability to take an unclear manager question, identify the underlying issue, and provide a clear answer.
  • Sound judgment about when to escalate matters and when to handle them directly.
  • Ability to explain complex employment law requirements concisely to busy managers.
  • Ability to maintain organization across multiple countries, cases, and projects without losing sight of priorities.
