Ericsson is seeking an Operations Support Intern in Plano, Texas, for a 12-week full-time internship starting May 25th, 2027. The role involves supporting telecom network services, including monitoring, incident response, and automation using programming languages like Python and Java, while gaining experience in AI use cases and network operations.

Ansvarsområden

  • Develop automation for maintenance tasks using Python, Linux Bash scripting, Groovy, and Java, along with DevOps pipelines.
  • Participate in building AI use cases to transition operations from reactive to predictive.
  • Assist in monitoring network alarms and events, classifying and escalating issues.
  • Support the incident management process by tracking tickets, documenting updates, and assisting with troubleshooting.
  • Learn about core network and RAN component monitoring and maintenance, assisting with routine checks.
  • Analyze logs, alarms, and performance metrics to identify potential service issues.
  • Support controlled remote access activities and change management processes.
  • Maintain accurate records of incidents and operational updates, assisting with status reporting.
  • Work with engineering, security, and service teams to understand issue resolution.
  • Contribute to process documentation, playbooks, automation scripts, or dashboard improvements.

Krav

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Information Technology, Telecommunications, Computer Science, Electrical/Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Networking fundamentals (IP, TCP/UDP, DNS, routing basics).
  • OSI model concepts.
  • Familiarity with Linux or command-line environments.
  • Programming language knowledge: Python, Linux Bash scripting, Groovy, and Java.
  • Understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and authentication (OAuth2, tokens).
  • Basic familiarity with Linux command line and Git (branching).
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to document findings clearly.
  • Clear written and verbal communication.
  • 2.7+ GPA or equivalent.
  • Actively enrolled on a full-time basis at a four-year college or university.
  • Available for a full-time internship for 12 weeks.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Exposure to telecom domains (RAN, Core, OSS/BSS, Cloud) through coursework or projects.
  • Experience with monitoring tools or ticketing systems (academic or lab exposure is fine).
  • Understanding of virtualization or cloud fundamentals.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Analytical thinking and structured troubleshooting approach.
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines.
  • Willingness to follow established operational and security procedures.
