Microsoft is seeking a Senior Data Center Technician (DCT) for on-site roles in Lithia Springs, East Point, & Palmetto, GA. The position involves standard processes for installing, troubleshooting, and decommissioning IT equipment, with expertise in network, server, and storage interactions. This role offers opportunities for professional development within Microsoft's Cloud Operations & Innovation team.
Ansvarsområden
- Comply with Data Center business unit policies and procedures.
- Install, perform diagnostics, troubleshoot, replace, and decommission IT datacenter technology and equipment.
- Provide guidance and input on standard processes and procedures to improve service quality and efficiency.
- Complete assigned tickets efficiently and in alignment with relevant Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Assist less experienced technicians with complex tickets or tasks.
- Travel up to 25% domestically to and from multiple locations during the workday.
- Work 12-hour shifts, including evenings, nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Adhere to and promote a culture of safety, completing required EHS training and using appropriate PPE.
- Complete required training aligned to job focus areas and workloads.
- Mentor and support the training of other technicians.
- Prepare, stage, set up, and perform basic startups and shutdowns for hardware.
- Apply advanced diagnostics and troubleshooting expertise to identify and replace faulty components.
- Perform discrete quality control activities and assessment of work performed by other technicians.
- Directly perform decommissions, simple changes, complex changes, and refreshes of infrastructure cabling, network, storage, and server equipment.
Krav
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent.
- Basic knowledge of computer hardware and components.
- 2+ years of experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- Ability to meet Microsoft, customer, and/or government security screening requirements.
- Must pass the Microsoft Cloud background check.
- Must have authorization to work in the United States without requiring employer sponsorship.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Associates Degree in Computer Science or other field and/or equivalent work experience.
- 3+ years experience supporting IT equipment or related technology.
- 2+ years experience working in a production, mission-critical 24x7x365 datacenter environment.
- Applicable certifications: ASICS/Inventory Control, CompTIA (A+, Server+, Network+), Basic Structure Cabling (BSC), Data Center Foundation Certification (DCFC), Microsoft Certified Professional (MCP), Vendor-Specific Network Certifications.
