Sandvik Mining is seeking a Mechanical Engineering Co-op Student for an 8-month term in Winnipeg, Manitoba. This role offers hands-on experience in supporting mechanical design, product improvement, 3D CAD modeling, and contributing to real projects in the production of underground drilling equipment.

Ansvarsområden

Support mechanical design and product-improvement projects.
Create and update 3D CAD models, technical drawings, parts and assemblies.
Assist with the creation, release and maintenance of bills of materials.
Help develop designs considering manufacturing constraints and assembly methods.
Participate in design reviews and cross-functional team activities.
Support shop-floor troubleshooting by gathering information and reviewing drawings.
Assist with technical documentation and engineering change activities.
Collaborate with production, quality, supply chain and vendors.

Krav

Current enrolment in a Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering Technology or related post-secondary co-op program.
Foundational understanding of mechanical design principles.
Experience with 3D CAD modelling.
Ability to read and interpret technical drawings or engineering documentation.
Clear communication, teamwork, organization and problem-solving skills.
Ability to manage assigned tasks and work both independently and collaboratively.
Comfort working in an office and production environment.
Eligibility to work in Canada for the full duration of the co-op term.
A positive, curious and safety-focused approach to learning.

Önskade kvalifikationer

Siemens NX experience is an asset but is not required.
Interest in machine design, manufacturing, welded structures, hydraulics, pneumatics, powertrains or control systems.
Mining or heavy-equipment experience is an asset but is not required.
A foundational understanding of mechanical design principles gained through coursework, academic projects, previous work or student-team experience.
Strong attention to detail and a willingness to ask questions and learn from feedback.
