ABB is seeking a Mechanical Designer to create, modify, and release custom electric motor designs and associated engineering documentation. The role involves collaborating with various teams to ensure customer requirements are met and utilizing engineering tools for design management and continuous improvement. A Bachelor's degree in Engineering or an Associate's degree in Mechanical Design/Drafting with relevant experience is preferred.

Ansvarsområden

  • Create, maintain, and update engineering drawings, Bills of Material (BOMs), specifications, and technical documentation for custom motor orders.
  • Support custom order execution by implementing design modifications, product configurations, engineering changes, and technical solutions.
  • Collaborate with Engineering, Sales, Manufacturing, and Supply Chain teams to provide technical documentation and resolve product/material issues.
  • Utilize engineering tools, processes, and SAP systems to manage documentation and drive continuous improvement.
  • Ensure timely completion of assigned deliverables and identify/escalate technical risks.

Krav

  • Bachelor’s Degree (Engineering - Preferred) OR Associate’s Degree (Mechanical Design/Drafting - Preferred) with minimum 2 years relevant experience OR High School Diploma with minimum 4 years relevant experience.
  • Candidates must already have work authorization that would permit them to work for ABB in the US.

Önskade kvalifikationer

  • Expertise in complex part and assembly modeling for production‑ready designs.
  • Strong command of mechanical design fundamentals, including GD&T, tolerance analysis, and a variety of manufacturing processes such as die casting, machining, stamping, plastic molding, and fabrication.
  • Proven ability to create accurate production documentation, including detailed drawings, BOMs, and engineering records, while supporting design changes and revisions.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint for engineering analysis, data reporting, and technical presentations.
  • SolidWorks PDM (Product Data Management), SolidWorks Design Professional Certification (CSWP), FEA or simulation tools, SAP or PLM systems, and design support for electromechanical or industrial products.
  • PMP Certification, Lean Six Sigma Certification, Working knowledge of UL, CSA, IEEE, NEMA regulatory compliance.
