Emerson is looking for a Materials Engineer in Marshalltown, IA to lead innovation in advanced materials, including polymers, elastomers, coatings, and adhesives. This role involves material selection, failure analysis, and supplier qualification to enhance product design and performance globally.

Ansvarsområden

  • Provide technical leadership in identifying, developing, applying, and qualifying materials for product design, manufacture, and application.
  • Lead projects and offer support in failure analysis, supplier qualification, material selection, and materials research.
  • Collaborate with global internal teams and customers to understand materials needs.
  • Create and document best practices for applying technologies to current and future development projects.
  • Develop and maintain internal specifications and practices.
  • Contribute to and interpret industry standards.

Krav

  • Undergraduate degree in Material Science and Engineering, Metallurgical Engineering, Polymer Science, or Plastics Engineering.
  • Experience in applying materials technology to solving a broad range of problems.
  • Ability to quickly learn and apply new technology.
  • Self-motivated, self-sufficient, and capable of working with teams with competing interests and priorities.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to present to large audiences.
  • Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safely perform experiments.
  • Occasional off-hours work to coordinate projects with other world areas.
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically and internationally as required.
