The Manager, Labor Relations will lead the site labor relations team and support operational management in Byhalia, MS. This strategic and hands-on role involves managing collective bargaining agreements, ensuring legal compliance, and fostering strong union relationships. The position requires a Bachelor's degree and a minimum of 5 years of experience in labor relations, preferably in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
Ansvarsområden
- Develop and execute a comprehensive labor relations strategy.
- Advise and educate leaders on labor relations matters, including CBA interpretation and administration.
- Lead and develop a team of labor relations professionals.
- Work closely with union representation to maintain a strong relationship.
- Ensure consistent administration and interpretation of the CBA, site work rules, and Company policies.
- Serve as the Company representative at the local level of the grievance procedure.
- Support contract negotiations by identifying issues and developing proposals.
- Act as a change agent to drive a continuous improvement mindset.
- Champion the Volvo culture and values.
- Perform special initiatives, projects, and assignments as directed.
Krav
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Labor/Industrial Relations or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of Labor Relations experience, preferably in a distribution/manufacturing environment.
- Proficiency in the English language.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Thorough knowledge of US employment and labor law, and HR professional practices.
- Solid business acumen.
- Strong problem-solving, negotiating, and conflict resolution skills.
- Ability to facilitate meetings and resolve conflicts.
- Ability to coach managers and employees.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent computer skills (Microsoft Office 365).
- High degree of confidentiality, integrity, and ethical standards.
Önskade kvalifikationer
- Advanced/graduate degree preferred.
- Collective bargaining experience negotiating contracts and other agreements directly with the union preferred.
- 2 years of people leadership experience preferred.
- Human Resources professional certification preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to drive change, set demanding targets and motivate teams and individuals.
- Analytical and interested in using data for insights.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced team environment.
- Ability to travel occasionally to support business needs.
