The Maintenance Technician installs, maintains, and repairs machinery, equipment, and electrical/mechanical systems. This role involves troubleshooting, preventative maintenance, and utilizing various tools and technical skills in a manufacturing environment.

Ansvarsområden

Install and repair electrical apparatus, transformers, and wiring.
Set up and operate machine tools to repair or fabricate parts.
Install, program, or repair automated machinery and equipment.
Inspect and test machinery and equipment to identify issues.
Listen for unusual sounds to diagnose malfunctions and discuss with supervisors.
Repair faulty equipment or dismantle and install new/repaired parts.
Clean and lubricate machinery parts.
Lay out, assemble, install, and maintain pipe systems and related equipment.
Repair and maintain the physical structure of the establishment.
Operate cutting torch or welding equipment to join metal parts.
Fabricate and repair wooden structures.
Participate in developing and implementing preventative maintenance procedures.
Conduct periodic quality checks on equipment and systems.
Schedule repairs to ensure equipment is up to standard.

Krav

High School Diploma or equivalent required.
3-5 years of related maintenance (electrical and mechanical) experience.
Practical experience with manufacturing, assembly, and welding equipment.
High School math skills.
Ability to work in confined spaces.
Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
In-depth knowledge of electrical and hydraulic systems.
High sense of urgency and excellent prioritization skills.
Excellent problem solving and root cause analysis skills.
Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical issues.
Ability to maintain on-call flexibility.
Ability to be flexible in a constantly changing production environment.
Advanced understanding of general maintenance procedures and techniques.
Understand systems for managing warranty items and maintenance schedules.
General understanding and working knowledge of basic engineering principles.
Active listener with effective oral/written communication and interpersonal skills.
Working knowledge of tool and equipment design and/or manufacturing processes.
Ability to read and follow written instructions and procedures with close supervision.
Ability to function both independently and with good judgment in a team environment.
Ability to perform duties on ladders or aerial lifts.
Ability to adapt available skills and equipment to respond to unforeseen demands.
Able to work safely in a non-climate-controlled environment.
Ability to read/understand instruction manuals, blueprints, schematics, specifications, and technical drawings.
Ability to troubleshoot and track equipment issues to perform root cause analysis.
Complete understanding of typical manufacturing environment.
Technical skills in industrial electricity, machine control systems (CNC, PLC, relays, ladder logic, etc.), hydraulics, and pneumatics.
Work in a safety-first manner adhering to all LOTO, Arc Flash, confined space, and other safety policies.
Ability to convert units of measure and work with decimal/fractional equivalents.
General knowledge of facility infrastructure systems (HVAC, air compressors, electrical power, transformers, distribution systems).
Advanced knowledge of various manual/air/electrically operated tools and jigs.
Regular and predictable attendance required.
Must be able to work a fixed or rotating shift schedule, including daily or weekend overtime.
Must be available during scheduled on-call shifts.

Önskade kvalifikationer

Completion of a three- to five-year apprenticeship program through an employer or trade union is a plus.
Degree or certificate in a maintenance or technical field from a trade, technical school, or community college is a plus.
Practical experience and working knowledge of Preventive Maintenance systems preferred.
Basic working knowledge and experience with Microsoft Office Suite and other computer-based applications preferred.
MRO systems experience is an asset.
